A contemporary devotional community set against the scenic and spiritual landscape of southern Cebu. The project envisions a peaceful residential environment that blends faith, nature, and community living, anchored by views of the Simala Shrine.

Brief

St. Mary’s Heights is a masterplanned devotional subdivision located near the Simala Shrine in Cebu. The development aims to offer a serene residential setting that supports reflection, community life, and long-term investment, while respecting the site’s spiritual and environmental significance.

Strategy

The project followed a collaborative workflow with clearly distributed deliverables. I was responsible for the schematic design and refinement of the masterplan, including the design of clubhouses, commercial buildings, and park spaceswithin the development. My role focused on translating the client’s vision into a clear spatial framework for early validation, while LPK Architecture led client presentations and feasibility studies to align design intent with costing and project viability.

Reflection

This project highlights the importance of collaboration, clarity, and shared understanding in large-scale planning. By aligning vision, design intent, and feasibility early on, the masterplan established a strong foundation for the project’s next phases—guiding it toward realization as a meaningful and peaceful community.
