Challenge
The clients wanted a home that was fully cat-friendly and highly private from the outside, yet open, calm, and interconnected on the inside. They preferred minimal exposure to the street while still wanting abundant daylight and ventilation. Balancing enclosure, interior openness, and feline-friendly movement became the core design challenge.
Solution
The home is organized around an open courtyard that brings light and air into the interior without compromising privacy. Fixed furniture elements—such as the sunken living area and built-in dining nook—create seamless, low-maintenance spaces that support daily routines. Clerestory windows frame the exterior façade for privacy, while large glazing facing the courtyard maintains openness and visual continuity throughout the home.
